Description
For oral administration only.
Each tablet contains Acetaminophen (Paracetamol) 120mg.
Indications/Uses
Panadol for children reduces children's fevers quickly and effectively. Panadol for children also provides fast relief of mild-to-moderate pains associated with cold & flu, headaches, teething, immunizations.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Under 2 years: Please take Panadol Suspension for Children.
Panadol for children chewable tablet is suitable for children 2 years and over. Each chewable tablet contains Acetaminophen 120mg.
To be taken at every 4 hours, or as prescribed by the physician. Dosage is calculated according to body weight of the patient: 10-15mg/kg/dose (Acetaminophen/body weight/dose), i.e. dose of 10 to 15mg Acetaminophen for every kg of body weight. (See table.)
Dosage of 10mg/kg (in tab): weight of child (kg) × 10mg/kg ÷ 120mg/tab.
Dosage of 15mg/kg (in tab): weight of child (kg) × 15mg/kg ÷ 120mg/tab.

Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours. Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.
Do not exceed the stated dose.
Always use the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to relieve symptoms.
Not recommended for children under the age of 2 years.
Maximum duration of continued use without medical advice: 3 days.
Overdosage
Toxicity is extremely rare following administration of recommended dose. Nevertheless, massive overdose of Acetaminophen may adversely affect the liver of some children and signs or symptoms of overdose may be delayed for up to one week following ingestion. Nevertheless, liver damage is largely reversible if the patient is treated early, thus prompt medical attention is essential in all cases of suspected overdose even if there is no sign or symptom. Administration of N-acetylcysteine or Methionine may be required. Acetaminophen overdose may cause liver failure.
Contraindications
Panadol is contraindicated in patients with a previous history of hypersensitivity to any of the constituents.
Special Precautions
This product contains paracetamol. Taking too much paracetamol can cause serious harm to the liver. Always read and follow the label. Keep this and all medicines out of reach of children. If symptoms persist or patient has been diagnosed with liver or kidney impairment, seek medical advice.
Please check with the doctor before use if the patient: is underweight or malnourished; regularly drinks alcohol (the patient may need to avoid using this product altogether or limit the amount of paracetamol being taken); has a severe infection as this may increase the risk of metabolic acidosis.
Signs of metabolic acidosis include: deep, rapid, difficult breathing; feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting); loss of appetite.
Contact a doctor immediately if the patient gets a combination of these symptoms.
The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular daily use of Acetaminophen with increased risk of bleeding; occasional doses have no significant effect. Before taking this medicine, make sure to consult the doctor if concomitantly taking Warfarin or similar medicines used to thin blood. Do not use this medicine if the patient is taking any other prescription or non-prescription medicines containing paracetamol to treat pain, fever, symptoms of cold and flu, or to aid sleep.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Talk to a healthcare professional before taking paracetamol if pregnant.
Available published data do not contraindicate breast feeding.
Adverse Reactions
Stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately in case of: Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching, sometimes with breathing problems or swelling of the lips, tongue, throat, or face; A skin rash or peeling, or mouth ulcers; Previously experienced breathing problems with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, and experience a similar reaction with this product; Unexplained bruising or bleeding.
Undesirable effects are rare such as: Thrombocytopenia; Anaphylaxis; Cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions including skin rashes, angioedema, and Stevens Johnson Syndrome; Bronchospasm in patients sensitive to aspirin and other NSAIDs; Hepatic dysfunction.
